Database Driven Websites

I specialize in building database driven websites. For clients with a large amount of dynamic and highly organized data, where the ability to either access or update it easily is a critical factor, a database driven website is ideal. Typically this kind of information could be anything from an online catalog, a calendar, a knowledgebase, to an online survey, etc. Databases are especially useful for data that you would want to search through or analyze, or where you have data you want entered from the public.

I use industry standard open source software such as the Mysql database and the Perl scripting language. Web hosting is on very reliable and full featured Unix servers.

The most complicated project I developed was a Social Service Directory for Lane County, Oregon. It evolved over three year period and was a joint partnership between Oregon Public Networking (where I was employed) and White Bird Clinic (which maintained the database). In the last year, Lane County got involved and eventually took the project in another direction. The following link is a legacy copy of the site that I developed.
